It is fashion week here in NYC. That magical time of year when all fashion lovers from all over flock to Lincoln Center to preview the coming season's goods. Speaking of goods, I had the opportunity to chat with the deeply opinionated but always sophisticated Toure Coffey  to talk style , love and life. Emerging from London England, This English  gentleman has always caught my attention from style to political and religious views. What I learned from him was, Its the very small things that influence and shape us. These small things move on to make up our characteristics and develop our style. 

Q: Describe your style ?

A: Traditional with an edge/ Urban sophistication

Q: When did you first realize fashion affected you ?

A: When I was about 8 our 9 years old, I could remember my mother having fashion magazines like "Tatler" and "Vogue" around and I would get inspired to sketch woman's clothing , But growing up in England in the 70's it was all around me.

Q: Who our what is your style influenced by ?

A: My friends growing up, I had two best friends with two totally different style's. One was more of a "Teddy Boy"  and the other dressed more edgy skinny jeans and cowboy boots. My style is also influenced by the European aesthetic. The 70's in England is really when men started to push the envelope in fashion.

Q: Favorite Fashion related childhood memory ?

A:  When I was about 12 years old and school was about to start , I had asked my mom for this canvas and leather book bag. It was my first fashion must have and I was so nervous to ask her to get it, because I didn't think she would get it , but she did.

Q: What is your favorite item in your closet and why ?

A: These wing tip " Barker Black" shoes,  they are all occasion shoes. I can put them on with a suit our I can just throw them on with a pair of jeans and a T shirt.  

Q: Man Maintenance, What should all guys incorporate into there daily getting ready routine ?

A: A good moisturizer and sunscreen , I don't leave the house before I put both on.

Q: Finish this sentence in a perfect world ? 

A: We will all experience love without the taint of it, but whats love without the taint ?

Q: Boxers our Briefs ?

A: All the above and sometimes nothing at all. Nothing underneath  just looks better in certain pants.

Q: What should every man have in there closet?

A: A navy suit
